Figma tip: Easy user flows in Figma using Figjam connectors
Create easy user flow connectors that update automatically
Pro tip: Copy a Figjam connector into a Figma file to create flexible user flows that adjust automatically.
Figma is a very powerful and flexible tool when it comes to design, but it can be quite tricky to map out user flows in a scalable way.
There are a number of plugins that can help display flows within a design file (Overflow, ArrowAuto, FlowKit), but depending on plugins means that some things don't work as expected, and updating the flows can often become a tedious process.
Figjam to the rescue
A relatively hidden feature of Figjam is the ability to copy and paste its native components into a standard Figma design file. Figjam's connectors work really well out of the box in Figma files.
How to use it?
Create a Figjam file in your drafts
Draw a connector
Copy and Paste it in your Figma file
Drag the connector endpoints to the respective frames or elements you'd like to connect
The connector will automatically update as you move things around. Simple as that.
